Earlier in May, I had the honour of presenting my oral paper at the joint Asian conferences of Cultural Studies and Social Sciences. It was my first Asia-based international conference, and what better to attend it in Tokyo! It was refreshing to meet many other scholars and present my initial paper findings on my panel.
